As the Northern Hemisphere spins toward the shortest day of the year, it's getting dark earlier and earlier.... My comforts to fall back on when the days are short and the nights are long are alcohol, sex, games, and good books.
I'm having the easiest week of my life. I have gone bike riding every time the sun has come out, I have watched lots of t.v. and played lots of games and made some pizza and some cake and stuff.. I have spent a lot of time with Jim and I have spent some time studying for the LSAT in December.. So productive and happy and relaxed all at the same time. And I finished all divorce paperwork and sent it in this week. I am officially divorced and not single! So excellent.
I want: for nothing
So many things are happening today.
My Step-Mom is actively pursuing leaving my Dad. I don't blame her but he is going to fall apart and I really need to actively pursue moving out in that case.
My ex is emailing me about meeting up with him before our divorce paperwork is final "to see if we are still friends"
I hate this idea.. because even thinking about the whole situation is so painful still and also because he usually turns things like this into power plays and because just even hearing his voice puts me into survival fight or flight mode.. on the other hand, could this be the way to get closure? by facing him off a bit and ... sort of like turning on the light if you're afraid of the dark to reassure yourself that it really isn't that scary... i don't know
I was so crabby all day and now I realize --- it's P.M.S. .. yeah, I really didn't know, so it's weird that it is a proven psychosomatic "western" thing.... because I really didn't know
My life feels tenuous right now. I want to cry, freak out, let go, breathe more. I want to curl up in a ball and lose my mind for five minutes.
I'm all about self-control and determination right now though.. I can breathe when I have a job and a place to live.
Thank goodness for James.. what would I do without videogames and pizza and rootbeer floats and amazing kisses?
It's time to dream. What do I want?
A Tesla Roadster
Mindstorms -- check, Dad bought it, just came in the mail
XBOX -- check, Dad is bidding on one currently
....Did I mention my Dad rules? A very passionate, out of control, hilarious Man.
A comfortable house with a BIG kitchen and war room
To make loans on Kiva.org
Danskos - black shiny ones
Two chocolate labs or weimaraners or golden retriever... just two dogs, k?
My own business -- kind of have this, but want more
Cashmere sweater -- blood red
Planning and Budgeting
lots and lots of love
good conversations.. more of them, i'm greedy about this
Perfect saturday afternoons
for my boyfriend Jim's cat, Justy, to be not wary of me
a perfectly organized and comfortable bedroom
to name my favorite inanimate objects with impunity and without scorn
inspiration for my new sketchbook, it's been awhile and I'm rusty and I remember being "good" because I had inspiration and friendly competition
What I already have, a sweet little inventory of the things that already comprise my joyful existence:

Capricorn Horoscope for week of August 28, 2008
Verticle Oracle card Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
Below is an excerpt from a Charles Baudelaire poem, as translated by Louis Simpson. "Ask the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock, everything that is flying, everything that is groaning, everything that is rolling, everything that is singing, everything that is speaking . . . ask what time it is, and wind, wave, star, bird, clock will answer you: 'It is time to be drunk! So as not to be the martyred slaves of time, be drunk, be continually drunk! On wine, on poetry or on virtue as you wish.'" It is a perfect time in your astrological cycle to draw inspiration from that counsel, Capricorn. In addition to wine, poetry, and virtue, consider trying anything else that might work to achieve the desired exaltation, like meditation, dancing, sex, dream work, or a vision quest.
Everything is fascinating tonight.
I went to see Pineapple Express earlier, I was going to see StepBrothers but decided I had only when I was perusing the schedule landed on that title and it was partially due to the theatre.. but Pineapple Express: I've been wanting to see that for a long time.
It was funny and good and I loved it. So officially, I've seen two movies today.
I am having an impromptu vacation thanks to Jim.. I'm soaking up his attention.
I have been home drinking rum and reading and snuggling two cats and oh wow it's glorious
unfortunately, I've also had the urge to drunk dial a few people but fortunately they are all sleeping like normal human beings, hopefully the late call won't be off-putting
I love games. That is all.
